Help Identifying An Artist From The Fifties
« on: Sun 24 Jun 2018 05:37:45 »

This is a rip I made off an uncredited acetate.

I'm pretty certain it IS an Australian artist. The recording is a 10" 78RPM Audex Royal acetate cut in Sydney. It would have most like likely been cut mid to late 50's. Definitely not earlier than 1955 when "Ain't That A Shame" was released by Fats Domino. I feel I should know the voice but I just can't place it. Any help would be appreciated.

01 [Unknown] - Ain't That A Shame
02 [Unknown] - Seventeen

Jackpot.

Thanks Rusty, I'm truly impressed that you found it.

Now I wonder why the acetate was cut.
