R.I.P. Broderick Smith @75
« on: Mon 01 May 2023 21:40:00 »
I was stunned to hear from Jill Tweedie, who sang with Broderick Smith on the very first Foreday Riders album, that he passed away yesterday.
We have lost a true giant of Australian music.

Sh!t. Every so often a notice in this section hits you fair in the gut. And this is one of those. It's not often I'm lost for words, but I am now. For a while there the Dingoes were my favourite Aussie act, and his largely forgotten unofficial Aussie anthem "My Father's Hands" was in constant rotation on my turntable.

His voice was unique; one of the best in the country.

RIP Brod.
