I had that problem with Chrome on a Mac. I changed to Edge and it opens without a problem.

I recently started having similar experience on my wife's notebook using Chrome, yet my notebook works fine.    :wtf:
Note: Using Microsoft Edge on her notebook works.

I thought my wife had worked out some 'smart way' to block me from using her notebook  :laugh24:   but maybe its got something to do with the version of Chrome running on her device.   Maybe try updating Chrome to very latest version ?  If already up-todate then maybe it's the latest version that is the problem!

Or it could be an Extension conflict (try disabling extensions one at a time to see if it fixes problem). Make sure you reload Chrome each time

Good luck

Hi Tony. This 404 error started a couple of weeks ago for me using chrome but I could access the site ok using edge. Since then I have switched to firefox as I was having other issues with chrome freezing on facebook marketplace. My computer is playing up a bit occasionally and I suspect a bad ssd drive so I thought it might just be a corrupt chrome install but seeing your post, maybe something else going on with chrome and this site.

I had this problem for a few days after I came home from Melbourne. All good now, and I changed nothing.

I know another user I meet now and then on slsk has this issue still though. If anyone has a definitive answer I'll pass it on to him/her

I have been having the same issue. Have done a bit of research and apparently a chrome update restricts access tot http sites as it considers them unsecure sites, and automatically makes them https. If the site you are trying to access is an http site only it gives you the 404 error until the security certificate times out on google. I have been using Firefox of late but have now got back here via Chrome. There are a few work arounds if you do an internet search for http vs https error. This great forum is apparently an http site so chrome blocks it for a while. I hope I have explained this correctly and hope it helps.

An update to my post above.  I noticed that the Edge address bar does not let me in, but the Bing search engine underneath does let me in.

Try the bing search engine in Edge.  Works for me.  But not the Edge address bar.

Just incase it helps.  We are currently overseas and had the same problem logging in - though funnily not on all our devices.  When I used a vpn back into Oz it all worked fine.
Cheers
