Where is Deutros?

Where is Deutros?
I haven't seen any input or sign of Tony lately.
I hope he's on a long deserved holiday break and will back soon....

Maybe one of the forum Admins might be able to shed more light ?

Good question Tom. I can't find  anything from him after 9 November.

Been wondering the same thing myself. He last logged in on 24 Nov; almost a month ago.

He has gone missing for longish periods in the past, usually from internet or computer related problems, but it's unusual to have heard nothing from him for this long.

Unfortunately I have no way of contacting him.

Week 2 in hospital viral infection having to learn to walk again

Tony sent me a birthday message on Facebook and closed it with "Back in hospital". I have no further details but he appears to have had a set back in his recovery.
Get well soon Mr D.

I just had a phone call from Tony and to say that he has been in the wars is an understatement.

Around the second week of December he had an episode and ended up on the floor in his lounge room. He couldn't get up or reach the phone. He's not sure exactly how long he was on the floor but it was 5-7 days... without food or water. Much longer and the outcome may have been dire.

It turns out he had a golden staph infection and couldn't walk or talk. His condition improved and he was sent home on Christmas Eve but relapsed soon after and has been back in hospital ever since. Despite undergoing just about every test known to medical science the source of the infection has not been identified. He is currently being treated with strong antibiotics and hopes to be well enough to get released in a couple of weeks time, but only time will tell. I've detailed just a fraction of what Tony's been through, but he sounds pretty good considering the gravity of his experience that would have worn the best of us down. Probably his biggest gripe is the hospital food.

He doesn't have his laptop with him, just his phone and tablet which both bomb out with the 404 ERROR message when he tries to log onto Ausrock, hence his prolonged absence. I told him of the many messages of concern/support that his Ausrock mates have posted and asked if he minded me sharing his story with you all, which he was happy for me to do.

Cheers,
RAM

Wow thanks RAM, that has been a horrendous past few months for Tony, let alone being collapsed and alone on the floor for all of that time. He's a lucky lad that he is slowly recovering because as you said, the outcome could easily have been worse. Please wish him all the best for a speedy recovery, because we all certainly miss him around here.

Thanks for keeping us posted Rob. It's a huge relief to know that he is in good hands now and well enough to complain about hospital food.
If you do speak with him again please pass on out best wishes for a speedy recovery. This place just isn't the same without him.

Thanks for briefing us Rob... it sounds like Tony is not quite out of the woods yet... but he sees the clearing.
I too would like you to pass on my best wishes for his FULL and speedier recovery.
I hope they work out the source of that blessed bug too.. I am sure it must bother tony wondering how he got it.

Cheers,

Just back from a week of golf and serious drinking and have just read the update on Tony's situation.

My God, he's had it bad and so lucky that someone found him in time. I feel so sorry for him having to go through so much discomfort, pain and anxiety. Wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy !

Please pass on my best for a speedy recovery Rob, and tell him that all his Ausrock mates are missing him greatly and look forward to him being back online soon - the Forum isn't the same without him   :(

I just talked to Tony. He's still in hospital, continuing on with the antibiotics treatment. He is sounding pretty good but is unsure just how much longer before he can get out so is a little frustrated.
He still hasn't been able to log onto Ausrock on his phone or tablet... hopefully he's out soon and can fire up his laptop.

Cheers,
Rob
