Does anyone know this song
« on: Fri 22 May 2009 08:05:30 »
I remember a song from the early 80's i think, called "when i'm with you".
tried to look it up, found a match with sheriff but that's definitely not that.,

sort of sounds like  robert palmer "looking for clues".
not sure if it's even Australian.

Thanks.

When I'm With You was a huge hit in Oz for US band Sparks in 1980.

Code: [Select]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sparks_(band)
Is this the one?

When I'm with you
I never have a problem when I'm with you
I'm really well-adjusted when I'm with you, with you, with you
When I'm with you

When I'm with you
I lose a lot of sleep when I'm with you
I meet a lot of people when I'm with you, with you, with you
When I'm with you

It's the break on the song
When I should say something special
But the pressure is on and I can't make up nothing special
Not when I'm with you

When I'm with you
I never feel like garbage when I'm with you
I almost feel normal when I'm with you, with you, with you
When I'm with you

When I'm with you
I'm always hot and bothered when I'm with you
I always need a shower when I'm with you, with you, with you
When I'm with you

It's the break on the song
When I should say something special
But the pressure is on and I can't make up nothing special
Not when I'm with you

When I'm with you
I never need a mirror when I'm with you
I don't care what I look like when I'm with you, with you, with you
When I'm with you
Eat your peas !! :)

Yep, I would agree with Hector :)

I'm not too sure about your Robert Palmer comparison though.

What a couple of quirky, eccentric, musically brilliant guys. I love their stuff.

Get the Terminal Jive album that has the full 5:45 version of the track, and not the cut down 3:52 radio edit that was the hit single release in Oz.

Cheers

Yes, definitely the one.  Have got on a compile CD (of my own) and happy to send or upload the single mp3.  Just let me know.

Motcher, I'm a newbie, so are there instructions on how best to do this posted somewhere or just go to rapidshare and upload, get the link and post here?  Good to know now for the future.

Cool, yeah I remember this song. Thank you all. Yes please Dr Keats for the long version.
I would rather sit on a pumpkin and have it all to myself, than be crowded on a velvet cushion.
