I used the address http://www.aussiedownunder.info/Ausrock/index.php/topic,20978.0/topicseen.html (rather than shttp) and I've had no troubles since.

i will let everyone here know after i start posting.

thank you ratso for your help..... :thankyou1: :thankyou1: :thankyou1:

No worries tonyangel.
Just a thought, but why not back up your computer and use Linux instead of Windows?

I think you have a browser issue where Edge and Chrome are trying to force a https connection when one doesn't exist for this site.

You may want to try using Firefox as your browser which can still be set to connect to http only sites.
[Settings > Privacy & Security > Scroll down to "HTTPS-Only Mode" then select "Don’t enable HTTPS-Only Mode"]

If you install Firefox I also suggest installing the Privacy Badger extension that stops trackers following you in your web browsing.

Hi guys. Firefox now doesn't work either. It automatically transfers http to https. The only browser I found that was working is Mozilla.
Any other suggestions to get around this??

My main browser on the PC (with Windows 11) is Brave (https://brave.com/). It has no problem with the forum.

Brave lets me know that the forum link is "Not secure". But apart from that, everything's fine in Brave.

I had a similar problem with Edge and the shttp vs http issue - managed to change  the latter as the site address.

That's some great advice, @arfa. I've just added that bookmark to 3 browsers that I use. And @peterpowerpop, I haven't used Brave before, so I'll have to check to see whether there are benefits of using that browser.

Also I think we've all had those logon issues over the past couple of years, and as @johng and @Sunnytoo have stated it seems to be the 'not secure' protection within certain common internet browsers (http vs https) so removing the 'S' from the full site address is certainly the key.  :smash:))
